Preliminary Examination

Candidates securing less than 30% marks in the Preliminary Examination will not qualify for the Main Examination. On the basis of Preliminary Exam performance, candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Main Examination
The Main Examination will consist of two papers.
Paper 1: General Hindi (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours, qualifying only with 30% marks).
Paper 2: General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability (100 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours).
There will be 0.2 marks negative marking for every wrong answer in both stages of the written examination.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the Main Written Examination will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test. The number of candidates shortlisted may be up to 6 times the number of vacancies.

- Male: Minimum 4 feet
- Female: Minimum 3 feet
Long Jump

- Female: 12-pound shot — minimum 10 feet
Candidates must qualify in all prescribed physical events. Up to three attempts are provided for high jump, long jump and shot put.
