The selection test will be conducted on Saturday, 10 April 2027 at the concerned Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and/or another centre allotted by NVS.

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions:
- The candidate must be a bonafide resident of the concerned district.
- The candidate must be studying in Class 8 during the academic session 2026-27.
- Class 8 must be studied in a Government or Government-recognized school of the concerned district.
- The district of residence and the district where the candidate is studying Class 8 must be the same.
- The candidate’s date of birth must be between 01 May 2012 and 31 July 2014, both dates inclusive.
- Only Indian Nationals studying Class 8 in India in the concerned district are eligible.

The JNV Class 9 Selection Test will consist of 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks.
