Tier-I Examination (Objective Type):
English Language (Basic Knowledge): 25 Questions / 50 Marks
General Intelligence: 25 Questions / 50 Marks
Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill): 25 Questions / 50 Marks
General Awareness: 25 Questions / 50 Marks
Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
Tier-II Examination:
Section I: Mathematical Abilities (30 Qs) + Reasoning and General Intelligence (30 Qs) = 60 Qs (180 Marks), Time: 1 hour.
Section II: English Language & Comprehension (40 Qs) + General Awareness (20 Qs) = 60 Qs (180 Marks), Time: 1 hour.
Section III: Computer Knowledge Test (15 Qs, 45 Marks), Time: 15 minutes (Qualifying in nature).
Section IV: Skill Test / Typing Test (Qualifying in nature).
Negative marking in Tier-II: 1 mark for each wrong answer in Sections I, II, and III.

Section-IV is conducted during Session-II and is qualifying in nature.
DEO Skill Test
For specified DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts, the required data-entry speed is:
- 15,000 key depressions per hour for specified DEO posts
- 8,000 key depressions per hour for other DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts
The DEO Skill Test is mandatory and no candidate is exempted from appearing in it.
LDC/JSA Typing Test
Candidates can choose either Hindi or English as the typing-test medium.
- English: 35 words per minute
- Hindi: 30 words per minute
- Test duration: 10 minutes
For Hindi typing, candidates are required to use Mangal Font.
